IView

ABC runs an internet site called iView (http://www.abc.net.au/iview/) which allows you to watch online most shows screened on ABC in the last 2 weeks.

This service is available at schools, but some schools have reported problems getting it to work on MacOS due to proxy settings.

There are a number of free programs available that can download this content. These programs allow you to download ABC material for future class use, and screening even after 2 weeks. (e.g. 4 Corners, Documentaries, News, etc.)

However, please be aware that due to the DET proxy, these programs will not work at school. So you would need to download the video with these programs at home and then bring it in with a USB device.

As these TV programs are recorded for use at school they are legal under copyright laws: http://www.screen.org/copyright/australia/educational-institutions/schools.php

(Tech info: The program used by all the programs, rtmpdump, does not support any proxy servers so can not connect to the content.)
